Riggs Stephenson was a career .336 hitter, thought by some to be the best player
not in the Hall of Fame. Riggs earned his nickname, "Old Hoss", while playing in
Greenwood.
Bill Terry, the last National Leaguer to hit over .400, played a few games for
Charleston towards the end of the 1920 Delta League season.
